Young CNY voters reject parties like never before: ‘You can’t have a conversation’: The next generation of voters cares deeply about multiple issues but is rejecting political parties and registering independent in even bigger volumes than four years ago. In Onondaga County, almost half of all newly registered voters aged 18 to 20 registered as independent voters for the 2024 election, records show. About 36% registered as Democrats. Lawsuit over fatal shooting at Father’s Day barbecue moves closer to trial as Syracuse council won’t OK settlement: A federal lawsuit against a Syracuse police officer who shot and killed a man eight years ago appears headed to trial after city lawmakers did not sign off on a proposed settlement. Brent Axe: Can Syracuse football wake up from its November nightmare? Kyle McCord hasn’t been in Syracuse that long but has been here long enough to know that darkness is on the horizon in November. And we’re not talking about how early the sun goes down. Syracuse football has put up a 12-32 record in the month of November since beginning ACC play in 2013. Can this team do anything to turn that November bad luck around?
